One of the things that bothers me most, when I work in front of my Mac Pro, is to have more space to store my work , my images or anything else I can think of to keep. When buying a new hard drive I have to be content with what I find in the market and , often , aesthetics is the last thing that is taken into account by the manufacturers.
Who chose , like me, to purchase and use only Apple products would rather that the devices that will be juxtaposed to the CPU had the same level of quality and aesthetics . Reflecting on this is what I came up with the design of this modular storage system that allows you to grow the space as they need the increase or that the market offers a more capacious hard drives .
The system consists of a dock that , in addition to hosting the single Hard Drive , power everything and connects to your computer using one of the available standard interfaces (USB , FireWire 800, Thunderbolth ) . The disks to be included in the Dock can be of various kinds: Hard Drive, Flash Drive or SSD. They simply need to be placed in one of the 5 vacant slots to be seen and used by the system. The 2.5-inch drives are compact . Use only SSDs allows you to get a fast data access extremely high and a total silence .

Una delle cose che mi assilla di più, quando lavoro davanti al mio Mac Pro, è avere più spazio a disposizione per archiviare i miei lavori, le mie immagini o quant’altro mi venga in mente di conservare. Quando acquisto un nuovo disco rigido devo accontentarmi di ciò che trovo sul mercato e, spesso, l’estetica è l’ultima cosa che viene tenuta in considerazione dai produttori.
Chi ha scelto, come me, di acquistare ed usare solo prodotti Apple vorrebbe invece che anche le periferiche che saranno accostate alla CPU fossero dello stesso livello qualitativo ed estetico. Riflettendo su questa cosa mi è venuto in mente il progetto di questo sistema di archiviazione modulare che permette di far crescere lo spazio mano a mano che le necessità aumentano o che il mercato mette a disposizione dischi rigidi sempre più capienti.
Il sistema è formato da un Dock che, oltre ad ospitare i singoli Dischi Rigidi, alimenta il tutto e si collega al computer usando una delle interfacce standard a disposizione (USB, FireWire 800, Thunderbolth). I Dischi da inserire nel Dock possono essere di vario tipo: Hard Drive, Flash Drive o SSD. Devono semplicemente essere inseriti in uno dei 5 alloggiamenti liberi per essere visti ed usati dal sistema. I dischi da 2,5 pollici sono poco ingombranti. Usare solo dischi SSD permette di ottenere una velocità di accesso ai dati estremamente elevata ed una silenziosità totale.
